EPSM presented EPSWater project to MIT professor
The EPSM team was in Boston from October 1 to 8. The travel itinerary was coordinated by FLAD with the assistance of João Caixinha, Coordinator of Portuguese Teaching in the United States of America, who also accompanied the EPSM group on several trips.
In addition to visiting several places of scientific interest, the group had the opportunity to carry out more fun activities, visiting New Bedford, Fall River, Newport, Taunton, Massachusetts State House, Faneuill Hall, Fenway Park, Patriot Place and Wrentham Outlets, among others.
One of the highlights of the trip was the visit to MIT. EPSM students had the opportunity to talk about their EPSWater project with Dr. John J. Leonard, Professor of Mechanical and Ocean Engineering in the MIT Department of Mechanical Engineering, and with officials from the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. Satisfied, Professor José Carvalho says that they had very positive feedback and received a strong incentive to continue developing this project.
