The Electronics, Automation and Control Technician is the qualified professional able to carry out the installation, maintenance and repair of electrical/electronic, electromechanical and automation and control equipment, ensuring the optimization of its operation, respecting the safety standards of people and equipments.
WHAT IT DOES?
- Prepare and organize the work in order to carry out the installation, maintenance and/or repair of equipment and electronics systems, automation and control systems and telecommunications installations in buildings;
- Install electronic equipment and systems and automation and control systems, using the appropriate technologies, techniques and instruments, in order to ensure their correct functioning, respecting the safety standards for people and equipment;
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment and electronics, automation and control systems, using appropriate technologies, techniques and instruments, in order to optimize their operation, ensuring the quality of the service provided, respecting the safety standards of people and equipment;
- Install telecommunications equipment and systems in buildings, using appropriate technologies, techniques and instruments, in accordance with technical instructions, specific regulations and manufacturer manuals, respecting the safety standards for people and equipment;
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance of telecommunications equipment and systems in buildings, using the appropriate technologies, techniques and instruments, in order to ensure their correct functioning, respecting the safety standards of people and equipment;
- Provide technical assistance to customers, clarifying possible doubts about the operation of electronic systems and equipment that have been intervened;
- Prepare reports and fill in technical documentation related to the activity performed.
Young people with the 9th grade of schooling and aged not over 19 years old (at the beginning of the school year).
In terms of professional certification, the school grants a Level 4 Professional Qualification Diploma. The course grants the Secondary Studies Diploma (12th year) and allows normal access to Higher Education.
Bruno Ribeiro, graduate of a professional course in Electronics, Automation and Command Technician at the Professional School of Salvaterra de Magos (EPSM) is today one of the 16 ambassadors of professional education, an initiative carried out by the Ministry of Education, via ANQEP.
Bruno Ribeiro is an entrepreneur and administrator of the company Link-e, which operates in the area of providing specialized services in the field of renewable energy. The former EPSM student praises the school highly. He says that this course was “a good choice” and “a door that opened to the job market” in an innovative area with great growth potential, in particular with the emergence of drones.
